Machiavelli
In 16th-century Florence, during the heyday of the Italian Renaissance, there lived a man who revolutionised politics forever: Niccolo Machiavelli. Was he really a cynical monster whose work had to be banned by the Church? Or was he a sincere, liberal republican who fought passionately for the independence of his city? This film reveals the true face of a man whose name still evokes unjustified negative associations today.
